• Knowledge of other world regions, cultures, economies, global issues
• Ability to communicate in languages other than English, to work in cross-cultural teams, to assess information from different sources around the world
• Values of respect for other cultures and the disposition to engage responsibly in the world
• Personal interaction between two different cultures, not necessarily across national borders
